Web Site Creation & Management Solutions
I’ve been building and managing websites for over 9 years, and throughout all of that coding, styling, and Photoshopping, I’ve picked up a few key facts:
Fact #1: Websites are the ultimate marketing tools
If you’re running a business, a website is not a luxury; it’s a necessity. Not only do your customers expect you to have a professional website, but that website is the most cost-effective way to build your brand image, attract prospects, and get sales. Nothing else in the planet is able to handle promoting, direct selling, and active prospecting throughout the world, all at once. Not billboards, magazine ads, people, robots, robot pirates…you get my point? There is no better use of your marketing dollars than professional web development.
Fact #2: Websites are simple enough to be affordable, but complex enough to require a professional
Although advances in technology and competition has made web design very affordable, most people need professionals to get the job done. Certain skills are necessary to build successful, marketable website. Good web designers have years of experience with CSS, XHTML, PHP/MySQL, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Fireworks, Flash…it takes a great deal of technical knowhow to build a decent site. If you only want a small, personal site, you could build it using iWeb or even Microsoft Word (gasp). If the website will represent a company, it needs to be compliant to Web 2.0 standards, it needs to look great, and it needs to get results.
Fact #3: There are 5 fundamental elements of successful websites
Every successful website takes advantage of five essential elements. The first three are required to have a website; the remaining two are necessary for any website to live up to its full potential.
- Web Address – you need a registered domain name (i.e. yourcompany.com)
- Web Space – you need web hosting to be able to store and manage a website
- Web Design – you need a professional web design that is built to get results
- Web Marketing – your site needs to be (and remain) optimized for search engines
- Web Maintenance – your content must stay fresh to keep prospects coming
